Community is all about us working together!
BankCherokee is once again very proud to participate in the 2018 Minnesota Bankers Community Impact Week. Here's where Team Cherokee will be the week of September 17th.
Monday 9/17: Joseph’s Coat is in desperate need of kitchen items—dishes, utensils, pots and pans, servingware, dishtowels, etc. On Monday, September 17, we will have a one-day competition between the branches to see who can collect the most kitchen supplies. If you have kitchen items you’d like to donate, you can drop them off on that day at any BankCherokee location. (Please, no furniture, clothing, artwork or any large items. If you have other items to donate, please visit www.josephscoatmn.org for more information.)
Tuesday 9/18: NeighborWorks Home Partners, Team Cherokee will be painting a garage for the great people at NeighborWorks Home Partners. If you would like to learn more about NeighborWorks Home Partners, you can visit their website at www.nwhomepartners.org.
Wednesday 9/19: Little Bohemia, trail/bike path clean up, pulling weeds, etc. Team Cherokee's “favorite” activity has returned! They will be cleaning up a local bike path in the West 7th neighborhood. Activities include pulling weeds, applying sunscreen, raking, applying sunscreen, filling compost bags with more vegetation than you’ve ever seen, etc.
Thursday 9/20: Jeremiah Place, cooking and serving dinner for women and children. A TRUE favorite, Team Cherokee will be planning a meal to cook and serve at Jeremiah Place, near the Concordia campus in Saint Paul. If you would like to learn more about Jeremiah Place, you can visit their website at www.jeremiahprogram.org/minneapolis-st-paul/.
Friday 9/21: Salvation Army Food Distribution. Team Cherokee will be working with the Salvation Army on West 7th, to distribute food to those in need. It involves stocking the tables with food to get ready for the market, greeting the individuals/families who are there to get food and keeping the tables organized and stocked as people make their selections. If you would like to learn more about The Salvation Army, you can visit their website at www.salvationarmynorth.org/community/st-paul-w-7th-street/.
Not all of Team Cherokee can get out and volunteer at one of the events above. But you may see them in the branch making a winter hat, wow can you believe winter will be coming! You may even see them decorating brown paper bags for Meals on Wheels. To learn more about Meals on Wheels, you can visit their website at www.meals-on-wheels.com.
Launched by the Minnesota Bankers Association, the Community Impact Week creates an opportunity for banks to highlight the many volunteer opportunities available to help build stronger local communities.
