Job Opportunity
This role provides a welcoming environment for BankCherokee’s main office, greeting visitors and aiding with banking needs, teller services, and safe deposit box administration. The role includes daily office administration tasks as well as projects and administrative support for the branch team and leadership. The position contributes to company success by relationship building, adding value to customer experience, participating in branch activities, and supporting a team culture aligned with company values, goals, and initiatives.
Long term role filling a typical schedule of 9am – 2pm Monday through Friday, with flexibility for full time days as requested to cover planned vacations, unexpected absences, or training and bank event.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet, assist, and/or direct customers, vendors, and visitors to Smith branch headquarters. Maintain strong knowledge of bank products and services, departments, and location details to inform and direct customers and provide referrals. Provide excellent service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and informing them about the Bank’s products and services. Answer phone calls and make phone calls related to customer accounts, transactions, currency and change orders. Participate in customer service initiatives.
- Bank and Branch Administration, and Projects: Supplies management, mail processing, maintain various logs, open and close lobby at designated times, managing appointment visitors between 3 and 5pm, meeting room organization, board meeting on-site preparation, event support, bank projects.
- Banker Support: Provide basic account servicing requests as needed, answer calls routed through the call tree, and complete safe deposit box administration.
- Teller Support: Handle cash transactions. Process customer deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan transactions with precision and attention to detail. Ensure all transactions are conducted efficiently and accurately. Ensure the cash drawer assigned is balanced at the end of each shift, accounting for all transactions. Identify and resolve any discrepancies promptly. Escalate to Senior, Lead, or Manager as needed.
- Ensuring Accuracy: Maintain accurate records of all transactions to prevent discrepancies and ensure the Bank’s and customer’s financial integrity. Completes transactions within approval authorities, identification policies, available funds, and customer authorizations.
- Security, Risk Management and Compliance: Adhere to Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure the security of transactions, customer information, and fraud prevention.
Role Details
Part time up to full time hourly position as requested Monday through Friday during typical bank hours of 9am to 5pm. On-site at the Smith Branch location. Compensation starting range potential from $20-$23 per hour based on qualifications and experience level.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with minimum of two years of experience in administrative support role and customer service or banking. Ability to follow policies, procedures, and processes, as defined by management. Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy, organized, exceptional customer service abilities, using technologies provided. Highly flexible and ability to multi-task.
Job Requirements: Standard office environment requiring ability to sit, stand, see, read, write, use computer, use phone, light lifting, attend meetings, interact with employees and customers in person, phone, video and/or electronic methods.
