Job Opportunity
The Portfolio Manager manages a quality commercial loan portfolio with an emphasis on small business lending, including C&I, CRE, and SBA products. Provides high-level customer service and builds strong banking relationships. Within the portfolio, generates additional lending and deposit opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Manages portfolio of commercial loans typically under $250,000 in size, meeting or exceeding Bank’s service standards to maintain and support the customer’s banking needs for deposits, loans, and ancillary services
- Meets with prospective and existing customers, including walk-ins and referrals by commercial lenders for applications for new small business loans and deposits
- In cooperation with the credit department and loan servicing, successfully navigates the credit underwriting and loan closing process, including credit analysis, documentation for new loan requests and renewals
- Maintains understanding of Bank’s Loan policy and monitors portfolio credit risk through customer communication, collection of periodic financial reporting, and file comments.
- Explores and discusses with customer’s opportunities for additional products and services with support from other departments such as Cherokee Investments and Cash Management.
- Reviews delinquent accounts and collects past dues
Qualifications
Five years of banking experience including two to three years of business lending, credit analysis, or commercial portfolio management experience. Demonstrated skills in promoting and selling banking products and services. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate and communicate well with team and customers, be dependable, reliable, have a sense of urgency, and manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong understanding of risk management and compliance requirements. College Degree and/or equivalent experience/training. Availability for daily on-site work.
